Work / Harry Potter Monopoly
Harry Potter
Monopoly.
This one wasn't work at all. My partner loves board games and Harry Potter, and there wasn't an official Harry Potter Monopoly to buy, so I made her one for her birthday. I designed the whole thing, printed it, and cut, creased and folded every last piece by hand. Then I posted a photo to a fan page and it rather got away from me.

A look at it

The story
One present, slightly out of hand.
I started with some wizard-themed vector art and a plain Monopoly template, then rebuilt the whole thing with a worn, papery background so it felt like something out of the films. Once the design was right I printed it, cut everything to size, creased and folded the box by hand, and taped the edges so it would actually survive being played.
The only bits I didn't make were the LEGO figures I used as playing pieces. She loved it, I ended up making a second for a family member, and when I posted it to a Harry Potter fan page it quietly racked up over a million likes and a hundred thousand comments. Not bad for a birthday present.
That's the fun one.
If you want to see the work that actually pays the bills, the rest of the portfolio is back this way.
